The VB-FSDstrut is a complete suspension strut specifically designed for motorhomes with an X250 / X290 frame. The strut is equipped with a shock absorber with patented “FSD technology” and a special coil spring from VB-Airsuspension (VB-CoilSpring). The VB-FSDstrut ensures that the vehicle is higher at the front. This creates a longer suspension travel and better absorbs bumps in the road surface. The position depends on the type of VB-CoilSpring and the actual weight of the front of the vehicle. The VB-FSDstrut ensures more stable and comfortable handling of the vehicle.
A large proportion of all motorhomes are built on a Citroën Jumper, Fiat Ducato or Peugeot Boxer with a PFC X250 / X290 frame (built in 2006 – today). The original chassis system of the vehicle was basically developed for light commercial vehicles and not for motorhomes.
FSD stands for “Frequency Selective Damping”, also called “frequency-dependent damping”. With standard dampers, you are in most cases forced to choose between stability and comfort. Opt for more stability, the vehicle feels more stable, but offers less comfort. If you decide on comfort, the vehicle is more comfortable to drive, but feels less stable. Of course you really want to make the most of both driving dynamics.
